Jackson Child Care Participates in Supervisor Pat Herrity’s Successful Teen Job Fair
“Thank you again this year, Supervisor Herrity, for including me in the Teen Job Fair!
Over 600 teens from all over the county attended Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity’s Teen Job and Opportunity Fair at West Springfield High School on March 11. I was grateful to be one of nearly 45 participating employers who engaged with students on full-time jobs to seasonal and volunteer opportunities. Many students walked away with a job, scheduled interviews, and introductions to employers.
The Fair also included Interview Preparation and Resume Building Workshops hosted by Monica Jackson with Jackson Child Care and Casey Whitemarsh with the South County Chamber, where students had the opportunity to develop or improve their resumes and interview skills.
Supervisor Herrity Teen Job and Opportunity the Connection Newspapers, Fairfax County Public Schools, Chantilly HS STEM Academy, and the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce cosponsored the Fair. Additional Teen Job Fairs were held Saturday, March 18, at South County High School and Saturday, March 25, at Chantilly HS. Registration was free to businesses and students.
Thank you again, Supervisor Herrity, for providing an invaluable opportunity for students to engage with employers and local businesses to fill staffing needs. I’m grateful for your support and look forward to continuing to work together.
