Welcome to 2021!
Welcome to the 2021 Newsletter
According to the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) January 2021 newsletter, about 60% of young children attended preschool before the pandemic. That percentage fell to 8% by May 2020. It is even lower now. NIEER goes on to say, “With so many children at home during the pandemic, Early Childhood Education programs may have formed stronger partnerships with parents.” Here at Jackson Child Care (JCC), a strong, positive relationship with parents is a priority. It is critical to the success of each child’s preschool journey.
Our Mission
JCC’s mission is to learn, play and grow together! We provide a safe, nurturing, child-centered setting that fosters each child’s success and a love of learning in collaboration with parents and the community. We are committed to building a successful early learning foundation to equip children with school readiness skills.
We support the development of up to 12 children between ages 2-5 with fun, creative learning adventures. In 2020, five of our nine enrollees successfully transitioned into kindergarten. Currently, only three students are enrolled; one full-time and two school-age part-time. While the number of students is small, we are committed to staying open to support families in need of childcare. Throughout 2021, we look forward to serving previously enrolled families along with new enrollees.
2021 Business Priorities – Our business plan includes:
- Building a strategy for increasing enrollment;
- Planning for hiring, training, and retaining staff; and
- Bolstering finances to continue weathering the pandemic storm while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Through it all, we will support each family’s childcare needs and their children’s wellbeing with safe, quality childcare. We will continue to provide predictable service with a reliable schedule.
Indoor/Outdoor Classroom Improvements – In 2020, we invested in transforming both the inside and outside of our home to align with CDC and state regulatory pandemic health and safety guidelines.
–Indoor classroom transformation included flooring replacement from carpet to laminated flooring with complete sanitation and an air scrubber ventilation system, https://photos.app.goo.gl/zJT9sMBrmCqo9eP78, and https://photos.app.goo.gl/F5jEwonEWtqZwbN88.
